A. An inmate may be eligible for participation in the program if the inmate is not prohibited from participation pursuant to the provisions of Subsection C of this Section, and otherwise meets the eligibility requirements for participation in work release as provided for in R.S. 15:711 or 1111. B. Prior to acceptance into the program, an inmate shall submit to a drug test for the presence of controlled dangerous substances administered by the department. The inmate shall test negative for the presence of controlled dangerous substances in order to be eligible for participation in the program. C. An inmate convicted of any of the following offenses shall not be eligible for participation in the program:

(1)A sex offense as defined in R.S. 15:541.
(2)A crime of violence as defined in R.S.
