§5521.1. Louisiana Sheriffs' Certification Program A.

(1)A sheriff is eligible to participate in the Louisiana Sheriffs' Certification Program as provided for by this Section if the sheriff completes the training, certification, or educational requirement or attains the law enforcement experience as provided for in Paragraph (B)(4) of this Section.
(2)Nothing in this Section shall be construed to limit a sheriff from participation in an approved deferred compensation plan. B.
(1)The Louisiana Sheriffs' Certification Program is hereby established to formalize and recognize the professional standards of sheriffs and further support public safety in the state.
