§952.11. New employees

A.Except as provided under Subsection B of this Section, any person becoming a nonstudent regular employee, full time or part time, of the university after the effective date of this funded system, unless specifically excluded under the provisions of R.S. 11:952.14 shall become a member of the funded system as a condition of his employment.
B.Any person becoming a nonstudent regular employee, full time or part time, of the university who has attained age sixty or over at time of appointment will be a member of this system only for purposes of coverage by F.I.C.A. taxes and benefits, and such persons will not be eligible to make contributions or receive any benefits under this retirement system. The board of supervisors may use this special membership with F.I.C.A.
