Text

A. Any member of the primary component who would otherwise be eligible for benefits from the secondary component, except that he was employed prior to January 1, 2002, shall have the right to irrevocably elect to become a member of the secondary component by submitting an application to the board of trustees in the same manner as members who transfer from another retirement system. B.

(1)Any member who elects to transfer from the primary component to the secondary component pursuant to Subsection A of this Section shall have the option of transferring his service credit on an actuarial basis as if he was transferring service from another retirement system in accordance with R.S. 11:143 or he shall be given the option to transfer the service credit at the accrual rate earned in the primary
