A.Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, any member whose participation in the Deferred Retirement Option Plan has ended but who remained employed until such employment was interrupted or ceased upon his being terminated due to a reduction-in-force necessitated by Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Rita, or both, shall have the time period applicable to his employment after participation in the plan adjusted upon his reemployment and resumption of membership in the system as though his employment had not ceased. The time period applicable to his continued employment after termination of plan participation, for purposes of this Section, shall be calculated as provided in R.S. 11:450(D)(3) and (4).
