§ 11:3724 — Pensions and benefits

Louisiana·Title 11 Consolidated Public Retirement Systems

Pensions and benefits shall be as follows:

(1)If any member of the police department, while in the active service of the police department, becomes and is found by the board of trustees to be temporarily, totally disabled, mentally or physically, for service in the police department by reason of service therein, the member shall receive monthly from the fund, during such total disability or until he becomes eligible for retirement on service basis, but not to exceed one year in any event, a sum equal to sixty-six and two-thirds percent of the monthly salary for the active member of the police department holding the position corresponding to that held by the beneficiary at the time he acquired the disability.
