Text

(a)No supplier which accepts credit cards or debit cards shall print more than the last five digits of the credit card or debit card account number or print the credit card or debit card expiration date on a credit card or debit card receipt issued to the cardholder.
(b)This section shall apply only to receipts that are electronically printed and shall not apply to transactions in which the sole means of recording the credit card or debit card number is by handwriting or by an imprint or copy of the credit card or debit card.
(c)This section applies on July 1, 2003, to any cash register or other machine or device that electronically prints receipts for credit card or debit card transactions and is placed into service on or after July 1, 2003, and on July 1, 2004, to any cash register or
