Text

The animal health commissioner may order the condemnation of an entire herd of domestic animals when tuberculosis of any animal within such herd has been diagnosed. In such event, the animal health commissioner shall indemnify the owner of such herd in an amount not to exceed 50% of the difference between the salvage value and the appraised value of the animals in the condemned herd. Such payment by the commissioner shall be from funds appropriated therefor, but in no event shall such payment exceed the sum of $400 per head for registered bovine animals, the sum of $200 per head for grade bovine animals.
