Text

(a)There is hereby established the legislative budget committee which shall consist of seven members of the legislature appointed by the legislative coordinating council for terms ending on the first day of the regular legislative session in odd-numbered years. In making such appointments, preference shall be given to members of the ways and means committee of the senate and the committee on appropriations of the house of representatives. At least two of the members shall be of the minority party, at least one of whom shall be a senator and at least one of whom shall be a representative. The chairperson and the vice-chairperson of the legislative budget committee shall be appointed by the legislative coordinating council.
