§ 34-230a — Hearings; powers of secretary

The secretary shall have power in the conduct of any hearing authorized to be held by the secretary to examine, or cause to be examined, under oath, any person, and to examine or cause to be examined, books and records of any licensee; to hear testimony and take proof material for the secretary's information in the discharge of such duties under this act; to administer or cause to be administered oaths; and for any such purposes to issue subpoenas, to require the attendance of witnesses and the production of books which shall be effective in any part of this state. Any district court, or any judge thereof, either in term time or in vacation, may by order duly entered, require the attendance of witnesses and the production of relevant books and records subpoenaed by the secretary. The court or judge may compel obedience to the court's or judge's order by proceedings for contempt.
