§ 22-3006 — Compensation; recording methods; employees
(a)Persons summoned for service as grand jurors shall be compensated for their service and expenses at the rates provided by law for the compensation of petit jurors in the district court. Such compensation shall be paid from the general fund of the county.
(b)All proceedings before the grand jury, including all testimony, shall be recorded. The grand jury shall select the method of recording and may employ a certified shorthand reporter who shall make a stenographic record of all proceedings. The compensation of the reporter shall be fixed by the district court and paid from the general fund of the county. The grand jury may also elect to record the proceedings utilizing a digital recording system maintained by the court, if such system is available.
