(a)Except as otherwise provided for jointly employed agents, the executive board of the county extension council or the governing body of the extension district, as the case may be, and the director of extension, or the director's authorized representative, shall appoint an extension agent and determine the amount of the extension agent's compensation. The extension agent shall be under the general supervision of the executive board or the governing body of the extension district, as the case may be, and the director of extension. The director of extension of Kansas state university of agriculture and applied science shall determine the qualifications of each extension agent.
