Text

The sheriff of any county adopting the provisions of this act is hereby relieved of all power, authority and responsibility now or hereafter prescribed by law for the enforcement of the laws of this state from and after the date fixed for the transfer of such authority and responsibility to the law enforcement department under the provisions of this act but nothing in this act shall be construed as affecting the duties and authority of such sheriff relating to the service of process, collection of delinquent taxes, the operation of the county jail or any other duty or authority now or hereafter imposed or conferred by law and not herein specifically restricted.
