Text

The board of county commissioners of any county having a population of more than 300,000 is hereby authorized to levy an annual tax of not to exceed 1 / 2 mill upon all of the taxable tangible property of the county for the purpose of providing funds for the operation and maintenance of the county zoo. No tax levy shall be made under the provisions of this section until the question of making such tax levy is submitted to the qualified electors of the county at an election called for such purpose and the majority of those voting on the question shall vote in favor of such tax levy, then the board of county commissioners is authorized and empowered to make such tax levies. Any election held under the provisions of this section shall be called and held in accordance with the provisions of K.
