Text
(a)The metropolitan transit authority shall not have power to levy taxes for any purpose.
(b)In any city in which the proposition to authorize such city to levy a tax not to exceed one mill to carry out the purposes of the metropolitan transit authority act has been submitted to and approved by a majority of the electors of such city voting on the proposition at an election held prior to January 1, 1974, the levy of such tax by the city and all proceedings in connection therewith are hereby validated and confirmed, notwithstanding the absence of authority by such city to adopt the ordinance authorizing the levy upon submission to and approval thereof by the electors.
