The governing body of any city which exercises the provisions of K.S.A. 12-1929, by ordinance, shall provide for the creation of a park and recreation advisory board to be appointed by the governing body of the city. The members of the recreation commission at the time of such combination shall constitute the initial park and recreation advisory board. Members shall serve upon such park and recreation advisory board for the term for which they were appointed to the recreation commission and upon the expiration of the term of any member, appointment shall be made to fill such position for a term of four years.
