Text

(a)A law enforcement officer shall investigate each motor vehicle accident that results in any of the following:
(1)The injury or death of a person.
(2)Total property damage to an apparent extent of at least two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500).
(b)A law enforcement officer present at the scene of an accident shall ensure that each operator is in compliance with the requirements of IC 9-26-1-1.1, regardless of the apparent extent of the total property damage. [Pre-1991 Recodification Citation: 9-4-1-46(c) part.]
