Text

If:

(1)an article described in section 1 of this chapter has an appraised value greater than twelve dollars ($12) and is not claimed and proven within ninety (90) days after the day the article is found; or
(2)a stray animal other than a horse, a mule, or an ass has an appraised value greater than ten dollars ($10) and is not claimed and proven within six (6) months after the animal is found; the finder shall report that information to a court with jurisdiction where the property was initially found not later than five (5) days after the expiration of the time specified in this section.
