§ 32-23-12-3 — "Coal owner"
As used in this chapter, "coal owner" means
a person vested with an undivided fractional fee simple interest or other
freehold interest in coal contained within the coal land. However, the
term does not include a person with only a leasehold, easement, or
right-of-way interest in the coal land.
