Text
(a)A consumer may place a security freeze on
the consumer's consumer report by:
(1)sending a written request by United States mail to an address
designated by the consumer reporting agency; or
(2)subject to subsection (d), making a request to a consumer
reporting agency through a secure electronic mail connection
provided by the consumer reporting agency.
(b)Except as provided in subsection (c) and section 11 of this
chapter, a consumer reporting agency that receives a request under
subsection (a) shall place a security freeze on the consumer's consumer
report not later than five (5) business days after receipt of the request.
(c)A consumer reporting agency is not required to place a security
freeze on a consumer report under this section if the consumer
reporting agency determines th
