5.

(a)A registrant or an applicant who changes the name of the person to whom the mark is issued or for whom an electronic application is filed may record a certificate of change of name of the registrant or applicant by electronic application with the secretary upon the payment of a recording fee.
(b)The secretary may issue a new certificate of registration or an assigned application in the name of the assignee. The secretary may issue a new certificate of registration in the name of the assignee for the remainder of the term of the:
(1)certificate of registration; or
(2)most recent renewal of the certificate of registration.
