Effective 1-1-2026. Sec. 1. Except as provided in IC 24-15-7-2, a controller has the following responsibilities:
(1)A controller shall limit the collection of personal data to what
is adequate, relevant, and reasonably necessary in relation to the
purposes for which such data is processed, as disclosed to the
consumer.
(2)Except as otherwise provided in this article, a controller shall
not process personal data for purposes that are neither reasonably
necessary for nor compatible with the disclosed purposes for
which the personal data is processed, unless the controller obtains
the consumer's consent.
(3)A controller shall establish, implement, and maintain
reasonable administrative, technical, and physical data security
practices to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibi
