Text

(a)If the conditions of subsections (b) and
(c)are satisfied, a minor who is less than eighteen (18) years of age is exempt from the requirements of this chapter whenever the minor is employed or works as a youth athletic program referee, umpire, or official.
(b)A minor must satisfy all of the following:
(1)The minor is at least twelve (12) years of age.
(2)The minor is certified as a referee, umpire, or official by a national certification program.
(3)The minor is a referee, umpire, or official for an age bracket younger than the minor's own age.
(c)In addition to the requirements of subsection (b), one (1) of the following must be satisfied:
(1)The minor:
(A)works with a person who is:
(i)at least eighteen (18) years of age; and
(ii)also working as a referee, umpire, or offici
