§ 21-47-2-6 — Geological survey; appropriations; responsibility of Indiana University; responsibility of state

(a)Appropriations to support the operations of
the survey shall be made to Indiana University by separate line item.
(b)Indiana University is not responsible for the expenses and cost
of operating and maintaining the survey except to the extent that the
appropriations and the income generated by contracts and other
operations of the survey are sufficient. If at any time the board of
trustees of Indiana University determines that it is no longer feasible
for the survey to be a part of Indiana University, the director of the
department of natural resources and the governor shall be advised as
promptly as possible so that the state may make other arrangements to
fulfill the mission of the survey.
(c)The state, and not Indiana University or the department of
natural resources, shall defend
