§ 21-23-3-3 — Board; selection of members; meetings; vacancies

(a) Three (3) members of the board of trustees
shall be selected by the members of the Purdue alumni association. One
(1) of the members must be a graduate of the school of agriculture. All
members of the board of trustees selected under this section must be
members of the alumni association and graduates of Purdue University.
(b) At the annual meeting of the Purdue alumni association for the
year in which the term of office of any one (1) of the trustees selected
under this section expires, a successor shall be selected by the members
of the Purdue alumni association, in the manner that the Purdue alumni
association prescribes. The president of the Purdue alumni association
shall certify all selections made by the Purdue alumni association.
(c) If, at any time, a vacancy occurs on the board of trustees,
occasioned by the death, resignation, expiration of term, or otherwise
of any of the members of the board of trustees selected by the members
of the Purdue alumni association, the vacancy shall be filled by
selection by the president of the Purdue alumni association. The
member selected to fill a vacancy serves until the next annual meeting
of the Purdue alumni association when a successor to fill out the
unexpired term shall be selected in the manner provided in subsection
(b). The member selected by the Purdue alumni association shall be
appointed by the governor to fill out the unexpired term.
