The board of trustees is composed of nine (9) trustees appointed by the governor as follows:

(1)Seven (7) competent individuals, one (1) of whom must be a student.
(2)Two (2) competent individuals who are alumni of Indiana State University nominated by the alumni council of Indiana State University. [Pre-2007 Higher Education Recodification Citation: 20-12-56-3(a) part.]
