§ 16-46-8-9 — Duties of state health department
Indiana·Title 16 HEALTH·Art. 46 STATE HEALTH GRANTS AND PROGRAMS·Ch. 8 Chronic Renal Disease Program
The state department shall do the following:
(1)Develop programs for the prevention, care, and treatment of
persons suffering from chronic renal diseases, including dialysis,
transplantation, and other medical procedures and techniques
which will have a lifesaving effect.
(2)Set standards for dialysis and other treatment centers within
these programs.
(3)Develop standards for determining eligibility for care and
treatment.
(4)Extend financial assistance to persons suffering from chronic
renal diseases for obtaining necessary medical, nursing,
pharmaceutical, and technical services, including the rental or
purchase of home dialysis equipment.
(5)Institute an educational program among physicians, hospitals,
public health departments, and the public concerning chronic
renal diseases, inc
