It is in the interest of public health and patient medical care that hospital medical staff committees have access to the records and other information concerning the condition and treatment of hospital patients to evaluate the care and treatment of patients as follows:

(1)For research purposes.
(2)For the purpose of gathering statistics and other information concerning the prevention and treatment of diseases, illnesses, and injuries.
(3)For the purpose of reducing morbidity or mortality. [Pre-1993 Recodification Citation: 16-4-3-1 part.]
