§ 16-36-5-20 — Health care provider liability

Indiana·Title 16 HEALTH·Art. 36 MEDICAL CONSENT·Ch. 5 Out of Hospital Do Not Resuscitate Declarations

A health care provider who in good faith and in accordance with reasonable medical standards:

(1)participates in the withholding or withdrawal of CPR from a declarant:
(A)by whom an out of hospital DNR declaration and order has been executed under this chapter; or
(B)who has revoked an out of hospital DNR declaration and order when the health care provider has no notice of the revocation; or
(2)provides CPR to a declarant:
(A)when the health care provider has no notice of the out of hospital DNR declaration and order; or
(B)after a revocation of an out of hospital DNR declaration and order; is not subject to criminal or civil liability and may not be found to have committed an act of unprofessional conduct.
