5.

(a)The following may administer an overdose intervention drug to an individual who is suffering from an overdose:
(1)An advanced emergency medical technician.
(2)A community corrections officer.
(3)An emergency medical responder.
(4)An emergency medical technician.
(5)A firefighter or volunteer firefighter.
(6)A law enforcement officer.
(7)A paramedic.
(8)A probation officer.
(b)A health care provider who is licensed in Indiana and whose scope of practice includes the prescribing of medication may write a prescription, drug order, standing order, or protocol for an overdose intervention drug for any of the following:
(1)An advanced emergency medical technician.
(2)A community corrections program.
(3)An emergency medical responder.
(4)An emergency medical technician.
