§ 16-29-4-3 — Preliminary approval of proposed project

Before the conversion of existing health facility beds to ICF/IID beds or the construction of a new ICF/IID facility, the state department may issue a preliminary approval of the proposed project, but only if the state department determines that there is an insufficient number of available beds to care for all the persons who are determined under IC 12-11-2.1 to be appropriate for placement in an ICF/IID facility.
