§ 16-24-1-22 — Care and treatment of county nonresidents

(a)If a county does not have a county
tuberculosis hospital, the county executive may, by contract, arrange
for the care and treatment of the county's citizens in a tuberculosis
hospital in another county. The contract must state the minimum
number of patients to be sent to the institution for any one (1) year and
the amount of compensation to be paid by the county executive.
(b)The county fiscal body contracting for the care and treatment of
tuberculosis patients shall appropriate out of that county's general fund
sufficient money for the care and treatment of tuberculosis patients.
The fund constitutes a special fund for the care and treatment of
tuberculosis patients if the county has the right to levy a tax for that
purpose.
(c)Any person residing in a county without a tuberculosis
