(a)If the governing board desires to have a
separate treasurer, the board shall adopt a resolution providing for a
separate treasurer for the hospital and the governing board. The
resolution must be adopted at least one hundred (100) days before the
beginning of a calendar year and takes effect the first day of the next
calendar year after the passage of the resolution. A true copy of the
resolution of the board shall be certified, within ten (10) days after
adoption by the board, to the city legislative body and shall be filed in
the city clerk-treasurer's office. The city legislative body shall approve
or disapprove the board's resolution, by ordinance or resolution of the
city legislative body, at the next regular meeting held after the
