§ 16-22-8-16 — Governing board; annual meeting; selection of chairperson and vice chairperson; position vacancy

(a)The board shall hold the annual meeting the second Monday in January of each year. At the meeting, the board shall select from among the members a chairperson and vice chairperson and shall make the appointments of personnel provided under this chapter.

(b)A vacancy occurs if the chairperson or vice chairperson of the board dies, resigns, or is impeached. If the office of chairperson or vice chairperson becomes vacant, the board shall select from among the members a successor chairperson or vice chairperson at the next meeting of the board.
