Text

(a)As used in this section, "animal health professional" refers to an individual, corporate entity, or other organization with formal training in the diagnosis or recognition of animal diseases or pests of livestock, including:
(1)a veterinarian or a registered veterinary technician (as defined in IC 25-38.1-1-13);
(2)biomedical researchers;
(3)public health officials;
(4)trained technicians;
(5)zoo personnel; and
(6)wildlife personnel.
(b)A veterinarian, owner, caretaker, or custodian of an animal who knows or has reason to suspect that a disease or condition declared reportable by the board exists in the animal shall report the existence of the disease or condition to the state veterinarian or local health officer not later than twenty-four (24) hours after discovering the occurr
