§ 15-13-6-2 — Advisory committee; members; vacancy; appointments

(a) The advisory committee consists of the
following members:
(1) Four (4) members of the senate, not more than two (2) of
whom are members of the same political party, appointed by the
president pro tempore of the senate.
(2) Four (4) members of the house of representatives, not more
than two (2) of whom are members of the same political party,
appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives.
(b) A member appointed under subsection (a) serves until the first
day of the first regular session of the next general assembly following
the member's appointment.
(c) A vacancy on the advisory committee shall be filled for the
unexpired term by the appointing authority who appointed the member
whose position is vacant.
(d) After appointment of the members of the advisory committee
under subsection (a), the:
(1) speaker of the house of representatives shall name one (1) of
the members as chairperson; and
(2) president pro tempore of the senate shall name another
member as vice chairperson.
The chairperson and the vice chairperson serve until the first day of the
second regular session of that general assembly. The vice chairperson
during the first session then becomes the chairperson, and the
chairperson during the first session becomes the vice chairperson. The
appointing authority may name a different chairperson or vice
chairperson at any time.
