Text

5. A probation officer may not carry a handgun in any vehicle or on or about the probation officer's body while acting in the scope of employment as a probation officer unless all of the following conditions are met:

(1)The appointing court enters an order authorizing the probation officer to carry the handgun while on duty.
(2)The probation officer successfully completes a handgun safety course certified by the law enforcement training board under IC 5-2-1-9(n).
