Text
As used in this chapter, "forensic diversion program" means a program designed to provide an adult:
(1)who has an intellectual disability, an autism spectrum
disorder, a mental illness, an addictive disorder, or a combination
of those conditions; and
(2)who has been charged with a crime that is not a violent
offense;
an opportunity to receive community treatment addressing mental
health and addiction and other services instead of or in addition to
incarceration.
