If the directors determine that the petition meets the requirements of Section 26b.1 and Section 26b.2, they shall, within 30 days after the conclusion of the hearing, give 10 days notice of the holding of a referendum by causing such notice to be published at least once in one or more newspapers having general circulation within the subdistrict. Except as otherwise provided in this Act, the proposition shall be submitted in accordance with Section 28-3 of The Election Code.
