§ 255-75 — Nomination of Board members

Nomination of a candidate for member of the Board at any election to be held after June 1, 1970, shall be made by a petition filed with the county clerk, signed by at least 50 voters qualified to vote at the election. The petition shall be in substantially the following form: NOMINATING PETITION To the County Clerk of Sangamon County: We, the undersigned, being 50 or more of the voters qualified to vote, hereby petition that .... who resides at ...., (Springfield, Woodside, Capital) Township, in Sangamon County shall be a candidate for the office of member of the Board of the Springfield Metropolitan Exposition and Auditorium Authority (for a full term) (to fill a vacancy, term expiring on (insert date)) to be voted for at an election to be held on (insert date). NAME ............... ADDRESS ............ The foregoing petition shall be verified by a certificate which may be substantially in the following form: I, ...., hereby certify that I am a voter residing in (Springfield, Woodside, Capital) Township, Sangamon County, Illinois, and qualified to vote at the election referred to above, and that the signatures on this sheet were signed in my presence and are genuine and to the best of my knowledge and belief the persons so signing were at the time of signing voters qualified to vote at said election. s/.................
