§ 255-125 — Reconnection of disconnected territory

Any area which has been disconnected from the Springfield Metropolitan Exposition and Auditorium Authority and which is subsequently subdivided into municipal lots and blocks or is used for commercial purposes may be reconnected and annexed to the Authority in the following manner: The Authority shall file in the circuit court a petition alleging facts in support of reconnection and annexation. The owners of property within the area sought to be reconnected shall be made defendants and may appear and defend against the petition. If the court finds that the allegations of the petition are true and that the Authority is entitled to have the area reconnected under the terms of this Section, it shall enter an order reconnecting and annexing the area to the Authority.
