§ 200-40 — Board members appointed

Within 60 days after September 16, 1984 (the effective date of Article II of Public Act 83-1435), the Mayor of Pekin with the advice and consent of the Pekin City Council shall appoint 7 members of the Board, 2 members to be appointed for terms of one year, 2 members to be appointed for terms of 2 years, and 3 members to be appointed for terms of 3 years, such terms commencing on the date each is appointed. One of the members appointed may be a representative from the Pekin City Council. At the expiration of the term of any member, his successor shall be appointed by the Mayor of Pekin in a like manner. All successors shall hold office for a term of 3 years from the date of appointment, except in case of an appointment to fill a vacancy.
