The Board may appoint a general manager who shall be a person of recognized ability and business experience to hold office at the pleasure of the Board. The general manager shall manage the properties and business of the Authority and of the employees thereof subject to the general control of the Board, shall direct the enforcement of all ordinances, resolutions, rules and regulations of the Board, and shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed from time to time by the Board. The Board may delegate its authority to appoint and act as employer to the governing body of the Village of Orland Park, and any such delegation of power occurring before September 26, 1991 (the effective date of Public Act 87-738) is hereby validated.
