§ 7-1-21

All suits pending in any court on behalf of or against any municipality, when the whole municipality is annexed to another municipality, may be prosecuted or defended in the name of the annexed municipality. All judgments obtained for any annexed municipality shall be collected and enforced by the annexing municipality for its benefit.
