Text

(a)The driver of a vehicle shall not overtake and pass upon the left nor drive upon the left side of any street car proceeding in the same direction, whether such street car is actually in motion or temporarily at rest, except: 1. When so directed by a police officer; 2. When upon a one-way street; or 3. When upon a street where the tracks are so located as to prevent compliance with the section.
(b)The driver of any vehicle when permitted to overtake and pass upon the left of a street car which has stopped for the purpose of receiving or discharging any passenger shall reduce speed and may proceed only upon exercising due caution for pedestrians and shall accord pedestrians the right-of-way when required by other Sections of this Chapter.
