Text
Whenever any officer named in Section 55-40 resigns or the office becomes vacant in any way, and another person is elected or appointed in the officer's stead, the person so elected or appointed shall make the demand required under Section 55-40 of his or her predecessor or of any person having charge of those books and papers.
