If the Legislative Inspector General determines that any alleged misconduct involves any person not subject to the jurisdiction of the Legislative Ethics Commission, the Legislative Inspector General shall refer the reported allegations to the appropriate ethics commission or other appropriate body. If the Legislative Inspector General determines that any alleged misconduct may give rise to criminal penalties, the Legislative Inspector General may refer the allegations regarding that misconduct to the appropriate law enforcement authority.
