Text

Certificates of birth; redaction of certifying health care professional.

(a)The Department shall issue a certified copy of a certificate of birth with the identity of the certifying health care professional, as defined in Section 1, redacted only upon the specific written request by:
(1)the person to whom the certificate of birth relates if he or she is of legal age;
(2)the person described in paragraph (1)'s parent or legal guardian; or (3) the person described in paragraph (1)'s representative if he or she is not of legal age.
(b)No name or information other than that listed in subsection (a) may be redacted.
(c)The issuance of a certified copy of a certificate of birth shall not constitute the establishment of a new certificate of birth under Section 17 or an amended certificate of
