(a)The Director of Public Health shall provide State Guidelines for Communicable Disease Prevention for which there is an immunization or medical countermeasure. The Guidelines shall address the use of immunizations and may include recommendations for the administration of products such as vaccines or immune globulin preparations that are defined as immunizations or medical countermeasures and shown to be effective in controlling a disease for which an immunization is available. The Guidelines for the use of unlicensed but regulated immunizations or medical countermeasures may be developed based on medical and scientific evidence if circumstances warrant.
