On and after July 1, 2026, the Department of Early Childhood shall operate day care facilities for the children of migrant workers in areas of the State where they are needed. The Department of Early Childhood may provide these day care services by contracting with private centers if practicable. "Migrant worker" means any person who moves seasonally from one place to another, within or without the State, for the purpose of employment in agricultural activities.
